Re: Kitna predicts 10-win season

"I really think we should not win any less than 10 games this year," Kitna told the Detroit News. "You're looking at certain games that would have been different had we known a little more about each other and known more about the system. There were a number of games were confusion cost us. That confusion won't be there this year."

Any chance he's right, and the Lions have a chance to be a 10-win team?

Kitna:

Kitna also said this:
Quote:
"Hands down, they're saying that Calvin Johnson is the best guy in the draft -- best receiver to come out in years," Kitna said today during the fourth day of voluntary off-season workouts. "So if you're sitting there at two and he's available, and you're going to use that pick, why not?"

Can you imagine if they Lions drafted another receiver with the 2nd pick? I think Kitna might have done some of this before he made these comments:

Sad part is, he's right. Yes, everyone would have a good laugh is Millen drafted yet another wideout in the first round. But hands down, Johnson is the best player in this draft, bar none. Picking him might be a PR disaster but it'd be far from the worst football move the Lions could make.

Re: Kitna predicts 10-win season

Bold words from a team who could'nt even crawl since the great Barry Sanders Retired. But from the side of that they look like a really good team, but still they wont ten, what they could do is win nine... but ten does not look possible right now, but end of season team to pull some playoff breaking wins is possible. But I see them still last in the NFC North. While even though they got better, so did the rest of the North. So they will have a better record than last, but i see a 6-10 to 7-9 team.

That Kitna...he's a funny guy.

The Lions would be lucky if they won 6 games this season. 10 Wins for the Lions in 2007...LMAO!!!

Kitna is lucky to have a job...he is a decent QB...but on a bad team, he is not QB enough to win double digit games...but hey, I am all for him placing a big bulls eye on himself...

I respectfully disagree. You don't win Super Bowls because of receivers. I think anyone who wastes really high picks with WR's and TE's are nuts. With the 2nd pick, they have to go for that franchise quarterback.

The Lions will never win with Millen in charge. He will never have a good season.

They did...they rushed him...fail to develop him properly and shipped off to Miami...why waste a second QB?...

Re: Kitna predicts 10-win season

Every year people in Michigan say "This is the year, they're going to make the playoffs this year." But every year they dont. Every year they disappoint their fans and every year we still stick by them. But I think people are finally getting tired of losing and tired of underachieving. The Lions are going to have to put an end to this losing somehow, and I dont think drafting another WR is going to make it happen.

Nostrodamus predicted California would fall into the sea...that didn't happen, nor will this claim.

So they picked the wrong guy, that year. I think Brady Quinn is worth the high pick. And even if it's not a QB, it can be any franchise impact position. An offensive tackle, A defensive end or linebacker. But definitely not a WR, TE or defensive back.

I like Quinn as much as the next guy...I think they should pick him over Johnson...

But I do not think Joey Harrington was "the wrong pick"...I think the Lions can't manage squat...they rushed Joey and screw him and the franchise up...hate for them to do that to Quinn.
