? Lions won't pursue Curtis any longer
MLive.com, MI - 7 hours ago
ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions have grown weary of the indecision by free-agent wide receiver Kevin Curtis and are no longer pursuing him.

According to sources close to the situation, the Lions are fed up with the fact that Curtis can't seem to make a decision. Head coach Rod Marinelli wants to sign free agents who want to play for the Lions, not players who are willing to settle on Detroit.

The Lions haven't completely slammed the door on signing Curtis, but have made it clear they won't get into any bidding wars for his services. If Curtis wants to play for Detroit and comes in at the right price, with the right attitude, the team will still try to sign him.

Kevin Curtis to the Detroit Lions? Doesn't look like it, unless they're bluffing about not getting into a bidding war.

Seriously. Rogers, Mike Williams, Roy Williams... all but Roy were busts. Sad but true, they drafted all those wideouts and they STILL have need to improve at the WR position. Curtis signed with the Eagles, though, so he's out.

Yeah it is so sad because it is true. Thats just the Lions for you. I just hope someday the will stop making stupid mistakes and actually have a good team. But the day won't come until Millen is out of Detroit.

I am not a fan of theirs, but each year I hope they will improve. How can a team have that many high draft picks and still not be a winning team.

Re: Kevin Curtis to Detroit Lions?

Before every season, it looks like they will improve. Look at last year, going into the season with a new head coach stressing hard work, Mike Martz as an offensive coordinator, improvement at the QB position with Kitna... the chips seemed to be coming together. Didn't quite work out, though. Now this year they have some solid RBs joining the fold, but they still have to improve on the o-line and now in the secondary as well. And with Joe Thomas sitting there for the taking, word is Millen wants to take Brady Quinn.
