Cool Harrington out in Detroit...

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) -- The Detroit Lions parted ways with Joey Harrington on Monday after four turbulent seasons during which the quarterback went from franchise savior to franchise goat.

I still like the kid from Oregon...Where do you think he will go next now that Miami and New Orleans have QB's...Dallas any one?

Re: Harrington out in Detroit...

I can see him signing on as a backup in San Diego now that Drew Brees is gone and they are going with unproven Phillip Rivers. Who is at Cincinnati now that Kitna is in Detroit and Palmer still has to recover from a serious knee injury? Culpepper went to Miami. Could Minnesota be interested? If Bret Favre retires, Green Bay may loof at him. There are still many options out there I think.

Huh? I was under the impression Harrington was still under contract w/ the Lions. Did they just cut him? No trade?
Well, the last QB the Bengals talked to was Brian Griese, and that was several days ago. Griese seems to be balancing his options b/n the natti' and Chicago.
I guess Joey "Hiesman" is a possibility though.

Re: Harrington out in Detroit...

The Lions haven't cut him yet, but Marinelli has made it clear that Harrington won't be back. The only problem is finding a place to ship him. The Lions would rather get something for him than cut him.

I'm sure, since we're talking about the Lions, he will do well in his new city and burn his former team with a 400 yard passing, 5 touchdown performance. He is a likeable guy who saw his chance to get out of the hole his is in and is taking it. He'll probably fit in well with a different coach, different management, different system, receivers who can actually catch a ball, and lineman who can actually block for him.
