ProFootballTalk cites Adam Shefler of the NFL Network for the news that the Lions have (or will sign) signed RB T.J. Duckett to a one year, $1.5 million deal.

As PFT points out, the Lions now have Duckett, Tatum Bell and Kevin Jones on the roster. They've had talks about possibly trading Bell again (they acquired him a week ago). So, what do the Lions fans think of this move?

Man, are they suddenly loaded at tailback. I think they keep Bell and Duckett. Having Duckett for this season allows Jones to take his time and recover fully. I'm guessing he'll spend the year on IR and they'll re-evaluate him coming into the 2008 season. And if either Bell or Duckett have a great season? All the better for the Lions.

Why was Duckett so ineffective last year? Okay, I could understand it when Portis was playing...but after he go hurt, it was Betts who got the majority of the carries. Duckett hardly played.

Simple - Betts is the better back. Hell, I'd start Betts over Portis at this point in their careers. But I think Duckett still has enough left in him to be a quality back, especially splitting time with Tatum Bell.

It doesn't matter they will both have horrible years because they are coming to the Lions. Whenever players come to the Lions they always end up being busts.

I think that Running Backs are this years Wide Receivers for Matt Millen...next year he will over stock at Tight End...
