ESPN is reporting that the Detroit Lions have dealt CB Dre Bly to the Broncos for RB Tatum Bell. So the Lions have their insurance policy at RB and are free to draft Joe Thomas at #2. Good trade, you think?

Matt Millen must not have been involved in this decision. It made too much sense.

Very interesting move on the Lions part. They get Bell who has shown some promise in the past. He could never be the consistant #1 back for Denver though (then again, it seems Shanahan never stays with one back too long). It does look like now they won't go after AP and are free to take Thomas, a QB or another defensive player.

Very interesting. They definitally arn't going to get AP anymore(but with Millen you never know). I hope they trade down to get some defense, especially since they just traded their best DB.

Well, the bottom line is, Bly wanted out fo Detroit. So by that criteria, he got good value at a need position for a player who everyone knew was on the market. Looking at it that way, it was a good deal for the Lions.
