Re: Martz - Bruce reunion? He may prove useful. First, the big name receivers have had injury problems. Second, these young guys could benefit from the experience that Bruce can bring. I'm still not sold the Charles Rogers will ever amount to anything, so signing Bruce could be important should the Lions cut Rogers.

Re: Martz - Bruce reunion? It's kind of amazing what the Lions have drafted at wide receiver. You wonder how these guys would have done on different teams. They were all excellent receivers in College. BBB

Re: Martz - Bruce reunion? I have faith this will be a non-issue. Bruce has to stay in St. Louis. He and Marshall Faulk are the faces, hearts and souls of the Rams. It will be tragic if he goes somewhere else. Tragic. He averaged over 15-yards per catch last year even with being injured the majority of the season. He is such a role-model for other players and fans alike. The guy has not received the same level of hype as other receivers due to his professionalism. He plays the game without all the on and off the field crap. Bruce and Holt are like peanut butter and jelly. They cannot be on different teams. He MUST retire a Ram.

Re: Martz - Bruce reunion? The news of Bruce being cut was met with shock and a bit of outrage in this city. He truly represents the Rams. I think they will find a way to pay him his full contract in a restructured sense. There will be more interest from other teams in Bruce than the Rams expected. He is, I believe, half of the most dangerous tandem of receivers in the league.

Re: Martz - Bruce reunion? Bruce is a very underrated WR. I don't think you'll find very many guys who run cleaner routes in this league. He can find the open patches, create catching room, and draw attention. He's someone that makes the rest of the team better. And, if you have to plan a defensive game to contain Bruce, let alone Bruce and Holt, there's going to be trouble. The Rams would be best resigning Bruce. And since he's a class act, he'll probably take a pay cut to come back.

Re: Martz - Bruce reunion? As far as the Lions cutting Charles Rogers, I just don’t see that happening. I am not entirely positive on this, but I believe Rogers’ BASE salary for this upcoming season is $800,000. Why not just hang onto the guy and see what he can do if he can stay the least bit healthy, and away from the pipe? If the Lions are going to hang onto Harrington who has not done much of anything in his Detroit career, then it would make as much sense to hang onto Rogers for one more year and see what they can get out of their former #1 pick. I’d guess Bruce would be better served to resign with the Rams with a salary cut in hand, and I don’t feel there is the kind of ties to Martz as one would think. Bruce was there with the Rams LONG before Martz got there. The Rams have already said they want him back, and my guess is he’ll go back. I don’t think with what’s going on with this new labor deal, and the suggestion for mandatory salary cup slashing, that St. Louis had much of a choice but TO cut Bruce. There might also be a gentlemen’s agreement that we know nothing about where Bruce comes back with a lower contract.

Re: Martz - Bruce reunion? I think this is an issue that gets blown out of proportion by the media because it gives something to talk about. The Lions don't have a good track record with recent free agent wide receivers and I don't see how signing one at the end of his career, no matter how great he was, will help them. I'd rather see them go after some of the younger defensive talent that is available.
