Marinelli deserves another year with Lions

To allow Marinelli more than a year to implement his program and truly make a mark on the franchise would likely mean Millen is allowed another year as the least successful manager in franchise history.

It's almost an intolerable idea.

And yet, Marinelli deserves another year. Marinelli knows what he is doing, believes in what he is doing and will work tirelessly to make it happen.

I can't believe there's talk of canning Marinelli after just one season. I guess most of it is tied to canning Millen and totally cleaning house, but still... Marinelli's a good coach and he has a good staff. Given time, and a decent GM, I can really see him getting the Lions turned around.

They should keep Marinelli. If they do decide to get rid of him, they should try to hire Bill Belichick. I am sure it would be a blockbuster deal if they can make him an offer he can't refuse.

Anyone who thinks canning a coach after one year, it's silly. Yes, Al Davis is silly but that's like telling someone the sky is blue.
