Lions Bears Game

The good news for the Detroit Lions is that they're getting a vulernable looking Chicago Bears team, one that is missing both starters on the inside of their defensive line. The bad news? Detroit is without their best running back, Kevin Jones, for the rest of the season, and they only carried 20 times for 58 yards in a loss to the Packers last Sunday. Any hope for the woeful, 2-12 Lions in this one? Any at all?

None. I don't see how the spread is only 4 1/2....Of course, now that I've said that, you realize that the Lions will win.

Bears, Lions insist game important
Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, IN - 1 hour ago
DETROIT – Other than being an NFC North team, the Chicago Bears will be like the Detroit Lions in only one way today.

Both teams are not playing for anything.

The only way Chicago (12-2) can lose is with injuries because it has clinched home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs.

If Detroit (2-12) snaps its six-game losing streak, it could lose the No. 1 pick in the draft.

The Bears insist they will play as if something is at stake, using their starters as long as necessary to win. They’re not worried about the risk of losing a key player, or players, to injury in what appears to be a meaningless game for them.

Yep, this game pretty much is meaningless. Even though the Chicago starters will see limited action, I still think the team will manage to hand Detroit their 7th straight loss. Wouldn't hurt for them to let Griese get some reps either, just in case.
