Obviously, a lot needs done to fix the Lions' front office, but this writer recommends re-hiring former Detroit VP of player personnel Ron Hughes (or someone like him) to run the scouting and player personnel departments.

"Whether it's Ron Hughes or somebody else -- somebody who has vast experience and a solid track record -- the Lions must do something to improve their process of acquiring players," claims the columnist. "The current system isn't working and to continue at this rate -- just hoping and praying that things will get better -- will lead to more dreary results." Is he right?
