With this team going nowhere this season, the Lions are playing it smart by playing it safe with QB Matthew Stafford. Get the kid's knee healthy and don't get him anywhere near the field until he is 100% healthy and ready to karate-kick through a brick wall. Detroit should know that it's playing for next year and beyond.
