Culpepper not giving up on starter job

Daunte Culpepper as usual hasnt talked much to the media, but he did say he wasnt giving up on the starting job in Detroit.
He lost 20-25 lbs. and showed some of the old quick feet as he dodged defenders to make plays.
He speaks highly of Stafford, saying he will be good in the league for a long time to come.

Why rush Stafford when you have Daunte?

Daunte still has a few years left in this league...hopefully...and in Calvin Johnson he has a the Moss-quality receiver he had with the Vikings...I think he can rebound this year.

Re: Culpepper not giving up on starter job

As much as I want to see Stafford starting I tend to agree let Culpepper test out the O line. Rookie QBs tend to have a rough time if they are beginning their careers behind a weak O line. Seems to suck the confidence right out of them. And I do think Culpepper can still be effective I don't want to imply I want him to just be a test dummy.

I agree! Start Daunte! Tho everyone might want Stafford to start...I think they should put Daunte in! He would get them farther!

Why do you think Daunte would get them farther?
