So of the five major football previews, Athlon, Lindy's, Pro Football Weekly, The Sporting News and Street & Smiths, all five have the Denver Broncos winning the AFC West, with two of them (Lindy's and Street & Smith) predicting the Broncos will go all the way to the Super Bowl. So is there any way Mike Shanahan's team can wind up NOT winning their division this year, or are they pretty much a lock as AFC West champions?

There are no guarantees in life. The Broncos have a history of coughing it up in the playoffs anyway.

If SD hadn't traded Breeze, I think they would have won this division but they'll still be decent as will KC.

Wow, lots of love for K.C. and quite frankly, with Larry Johnson, why not? They have to improve defensively, however. With Denver, you've got such a wildcard in Jake Plummer, plus how will the loss of Mike Anderson effect them? I for one am not sold on any team that counts on Ron Dayne for a significant contribution.

Definitely one of these two though, right? No chance for the Chargers or Raiders?

Jake Plummer is a very good regular season QB. Chiefs have a pitiful defense plus you know who as coach. Bolts have a rookie as QB and even if Brees was there he still needed 06 to let his arm heal ala Chad Pennington 05. Raiders arent going to win so I still have to give it to the Broncs. Dayne wont be the starting tailback for long. Bell has lots of talent he just ended up in Shanahan's doghouse last year but if they want to win Shanahan lets Tatum Bell carry the football. Broncos win the AFC I say.
