Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall's long history of off-field problems has finally caught up with him.
Adam Schefter of NFL Network is reporting that Marshall will be suspended three games for violating the league's Personal Conduct Policy. The suspension is expected to be announced this week.
But in a twist we hadn't seen before, Schefter reports that the league will reduce the suspension to two games if Marshall agrees to undergo counseling during the suspension. One can only assume that he will, in fact, agree to the counseling.
Marshall can practice with the team throughout training camp and play in the preseason, but he will miss the start of the regular season.
