| Lynch competes for starting job For the first time since 1995, Safety John Lynch will be competing for a starting job. Lynch will be 37, into his 16th, and likely last, season in the NFL. He was the league's oldest DB last year. His 9 Pro Bowl selections at the safety position are more than any other HOFer except for Ken Houston, who had 10. John Lynch: One more time - The Denver Post The biggest weakness of Lynch is his age which has taken away his speed. But still he is feared as one of the league's hardest hitters and he is a smart, instinctive player.

| Re: Lynch competes for starting job He can be as smart and instinctive as he wants, but if his body can't too what his mind tells him to do, it won't matter. I like John Lynch, but I gotta tell ya, I'm real surprised he's coming back for this 16th season.

| Re: Lynch competes for starting job John Lynch, I'm surprised he's coming back myself. 16th season age is really taking a toll and playing a postion such as safety. That must be tough. Hes a ROF for sure and he can still hit and cover for his age. I mean Lynch is very intelligent as well on the ball. I wish him luck... |

He had considered retirement. I dont know why he wanted one more year. The Broncos had cut his pay and at first he was going to become a free agent but then he and his family decided to take the pay cut and stay where they were. I have always been a fan of him too. I also hope he stays healthy this year for his sake as well as the Broncos. |
