Re: Broncos WR Rod Smith

Rod Smith of the Denver Broncos is one of my favorite players in the game right now. Smith is the team's all-time leading receiver, and he's got a killer work ethic. According to this story, he hasn't missed an offseason workout in 13 years! You'd think some of these kids out there would look at his approach to the game, his work ethic and his numbers, and realize that you really can't achieve one without the other. Shame Ashlie Lelie was so hellbent on being a #1 receiver that he didn't learn more from his potentially Hall of Fame counterpart.

Cool Re: Broncos WR Rod Smith

I would take Smith on my fantasy team in a hearbeat as a 2nd receiver or utility player. He always puts up good numbers.

Agreed. He's certainly one of the safer, more consistant WRs out there, fantasy-wise.

Re: More on Rod Smith

But beyond his fantasy numbers, its stories like these that make Rod Smith such a special football player - tales of him coaching up his teammates and taking care of off the field stuff. "He makes sure younger players are taking proper care of their bodies," says this SI article. "He helps teammates get connected with the right real-estate agents when they search for homes. Hell, he even gives Broncos running back Tatum Bell advice on how to stay lower when he cuts. In other words, Smith isn't shy on offering his wisdom." That's the kind of leader every team should have.
