Cutler: Will 3rd year be the charm?

Since Shanahan coached quarterbacks always take a major step forward in their 3rd year, will this be the year Cutler shines?
Steve Young, John Elway, Brian Griese, and Jake Plummer all took that big step forward in their 3rd year.

Cutler: Will third year be a charm? - The Denver Post

Do you think he will follow the trend of Shanahan coached quarterbacks?

Yes! I'm very high on Jay Cutler and think he had made a huge improvement from just one year. He is gonna be a great one IMO.

I really, really, like Cutler, he is a poor man's Brett Farve, I thought the Broncos had a team last year that would win the AFC West, I was wrong, but if Cutler gets his crap together and the Broncos get a few more players.

A Brett Favre comparsion? Yeah I can see that. What impresses me most about Cutler is his steady progression as a QB. I mean he got tossed in late in 2006 replacing an ineffective Jake Plummer and was understandably a mess. Next year as the undisputed starter he did very well and seemed to improve as the games go on. He even played hurt a few games (Favre-like indeed!). I wonder how much Mike Shanahan had to do with this smooth progression. The guy is a quarterbacks coach. I see Cutler hoisting the Lombardi Trophy one day.

He is, southern boy, can scramble around, make something out of nothing, can throw it 75 or 80 yards. Sounds like a very poor man's Brett Farve to me

That might be a little exaggerated but he's got a cannon, probably more like 70-75 yards.

Got to keep an eye on him...like him as a rookie...didn't really follow him last year.
