For the first time since 1992 the Broncos place kicker wont be Jason Elam.
Elam signed a 4 year $9 million deal with the Falcons. This makes him the third highest paid kicker behind St. Louis Josh Brown and the Colts Adam Vinatieri.
Elam is one the the best clutch kickers in the league. He is 38.
The Broncos are scheduled to play the Falcons in the Super Dome in 2008. Said Elam," I hope I dont run on the field when the Broncos are going to kick a field goal."

Apparently the Broncos werent willing to take a chance of his skills lessening at the age of 38. The Falcons werent worried about it, hence the deal.
I havent seen any sign of it. I think he will be able to last a long time yet, barring an injury or such.

Like you said, they probably want to go with a younger kicker. I expect them to most likely draft somebody.

I think the ball carries 5 yards farther at mile high...having said that, I think the man is still one of the best in the game..I would've kept him.
