| Firing GM act of desperation by Shanahan Mike Shanahan threw out his last lifeline when he fired Ted Sundquist. Sundquist held the title of GM but he had none of the decision making powers. The Broncos were and are run by Mike Shanahan. Blaming Sundquist for Mike's poor personnel decisions is like blaming the weatherman for the rain. Shanahan is head coach and executive vice president. He is on his third offensive coordinator in a little over three years and his third defensive coordinator in 3 seasons. Shanahan is now in the line of fire if the team continues to struggle.
