| Javon Walker Released The Broncos have releasaed veteran WR Javon Walker, according to a report from ESPN's Michael Smith. That clears the way for the Cowboys to move in on Walker, who grew up in Galveston and could provide a strong vertical complement to Terrell Owens. Walker was due $5.4 million in bonuses in 2008, with the first installment to be paid Tuesday. No one was going to pay that and, by all appearances, the lack of a suitable trade partner prompted the team to make the move now. It is expected that the Broncos release LB Ian Gold too, with LB Niko Koutouvides all set to visit Denver tomorrow after he finishes up in Tampa today. When healthy, Walker's been a force, posting 1,000-yard seasons in 2004 and '06. But in 2005 (his last year with the Packers) and '07, he couldn't stay healthy, and there've been rumblings that he may need microfracture surgery on his knee down the line. The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder turns 30 in October. DALLAS COWBOYS Blog | The Dallas Morning News |

| Re: Javon Walker Released round and round he goes and where he lands nobody knows. Dallas huh? Never thought about that. But if he needs surgery, we already have one of those. Dont need another. But healthy? Yeah, maybe that would be good. We need another wideout that could be a real threat. Glenn is pretty iffy even if he comes back ok. I can see it now, TO and Walker, and Jason Witten up the middle. I like that scenario.

And once again, it looks like one of those contracts nobody in their right mind ever planned on honoring. Why are they cutting Ian Gold though? |
