| Re: Rod Smith placed on retired-reserve list Smith, who missed last season with a hip injury, is the team's all-time leader in catches and was instrumental in helping the Broncos win consecutive Super Bowls in 1998 and 1999. The 37-year-old Smith underwent left hip surgery in February 2007. He started all 16 games for Denver in 2006, totaling 52 receptions for 512 yards with three touchdowns. He caught at least one pass in every game, extending his franchise-record streak to 124 games. A 13-year member of the Broncos, Smith holds several franchise records including most touchdown catches and combined yardage. Good career, slide him over next to Zach Thomas as good players over the last decade.
