Bill Williamson of the Denver Post reports that the Broncos are pursuing aggressively defensive end Simeon Rice. The former Buccaneers standout is expected to visit Denver, possibly as soon as Sunday. He recently visited the Rams, and says that his decision will come down to those two teams.
"I haven't heard a bad thing about Denver," Rice said. "I've talked to John [Lynch] and he raves about Denver and how happy he is there. I think Denver may be a great place for me. . . . If that team is on the verge of the playoffs, then I'll take them to the Super Bowl. That's what I do." Further pushing Rice toward the Broncos is the fact that he wants to start, and that likely won't happen in St. Louis, where Leonard Little and James Hall have the top spots on the depth chart nailed down. In Denver, Rice is virtually certain to be on the field from the start of the season -- if/when he's in football shape. http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm
