| Mike Shanahan contract extension According to the Associated Press, "Broncos coach Mike Shanahan has signed a three-year contract extension, keeping him in Denver through the 2011 season... Shanahan, 54, led Denver to Super Bowl victories in 1997 and 1998. Since becoming head coach in January 1995, he has led the Broncos to seven playoff appearances and a 123-69 regular season record, best in the NFL over that span."
All things considered, I think this is a good move. Denver might take a step back this season with Cutler taking his first full season's worth of snaps as the starting QB, but Shanahan has built a consistantly great o-line and this year looks to have arguably the most talented defense in the league. Oh, and he's the only coach in team history to win a Super Bowl. So there you go. |
