The Denver Broncos have acquired CB Dre Bly from the Detroit Lions for RB Tatum Bell and OT George Foster. Good pick up for Denver, who now have Bly to go with Champ Bailey on the other corner. What do you guys think?

I'm surprised the Broncso traded Tatum Bell. And although I really couldn't tell you much about George Foster, he probably isn't anything because nobody in their right mind would trade a good offensive tackle.

I don't know. Did the Broncos really need a corner so badly? They already had one very good one. I guess we'll see.

Who said anything about needing one badly? But now you have two shut-down corners, arguably the best tandem in the league, and all it cost you was a backup running back and a token offensive lineman. Detroit was desperate for insurance at the RB position, and it's one that Shanahan never seems to have trouble filling, so why not stockpile defensive talent? Great trade, if you ask me.

Contract extension gives Bly peace of mind

Cornerback Dre Bly wasn't thrilled when he first heard he was being traded to the Denver Broncos.
He had his heart set on returning to the East Coast after a trade to the Washington Redskins was close. He has a home in Virginia and wanted to be near his wife and four children.

But when the Broncos offered a five-year contract extension, that gave Bly peace of mind that he could move his family to Colorado. He was in the final year of his contract.

"It wasn't that I didn't want to come here," Bly said. "Every man would like the opportunity to go home.

"My thing was offering stability, and we got the deal done and I could move my family down here. Every individual would love to be around their family and I can't be without my family."
