Broncos' Zimmerman Does Not Receive Hall Call

(CBS4/DenverBroncos.com) ENGLEWOOD, Colo. It took the Denver Broncos 41 years after the 1963 opening of the Pro Football Hall of Fame to have one of their players make it to the shrine in Canton, Ohio for his accomplishments in orange and blue.

It will be at least one more year before John Elway is joined by any of his fellow former Broncos.

For the fourth time in the last five years, offensive tackle Gary Zimmerman did not receive the necessary votes as a Hall of Fame finalist. His was one of six names trimmed from the list as the group of 17 finalists was whittled down to 11, which was subsequently truncated to six names, each of which were subjected to a yes or no vote.

A travesty...The HoF ought to just announce that they don't care about anybody but the "glory boys" and will only induct RB's, WR's and QB's from now on!

Well, Bruce Matthews and Gene Hickerson both got in this year, so that can't be it.
