The Denver Broncos (8-6) host the Cincinnati Bengals (8-6) on Sunday in a game that could determine one of the AFC’s two Wild Card teams for the 2006 playoffs. Kickoff at INVESCO Field at Mile High is set for 2:15 p.m. MST. Denver is coming off a 37-20 win at Arizona on Sunday, a victory that snapped the club’s longest losing streak (4 games) since 1999. Rookie quarterback Jay Cutler compiled a 101.7 passer rating en route to earning his first career victory, completing 21-of-31 passes for 261 yards. With two touchdown passes at Arizona, Cutler became the third rookie in NFL history to throw multiple touchdown passes in each of his first three starts. After playing two consecutive road contests, the Broncos will play their final two games of the regular season at home for the first time since 1987. With both Denver and Cincinnati vying for a Wild Card spot, a Broncos win would give Denver a head-to-head tiebreaker advantage over the Bengals should the teams finish with identical records. Based on the outcome of games involving the Chiefs, Jaguars and Jets this week, there also is a chance that the Broncos can clinch a playoff berth for the fourth consecutive season with a win on Sunday.
