Jay Cutler Watch

With less than 8 minutes to play and the Broncos down 15-10 to the St. Louis Rams, Broncos QB Jake Plummer is 11-of-20 for 119 yards, 0 TDs, 2 INTs, 1 fumble lost and 4 sacks. So, how long before the fans at Mile High start chanting for Jay Cutler to start (if they haven't already)?

I think he will be the best of the top 3 QB's to out last year.

Re: Jay Cutler Watch

How old is Jake Plummer? This game does now look like the same "Snake" that played for the Cardinals a few years ago. Cutler should come in earlier than expected this year if Plummer continues to play this poorly. I think Jay Cutler will be a great franchise QB if the Broncos give him time to develop and mature in Pro Bowl potential.

Re: Jay Cutler Watch

Good point brought up by Associated Content writer Jeremy Zoll in his article If Plummer Struggles, Broncos May Look to Cutler - Associated Content. Zoll writes, "Jay Cutler... has been named the quarterback of the future for the Broncos. However, the future may be now. Is it possible Cutler could find himself leading the Broncos to a playoff run? Spending a first round pick on a QB could mean the Broncos are worried about Jake Plummer. While he did play splendidly to finish the regular season, his playoff performance left some to be desired. If Cutler was thrown into the starting gig, would he be capable of getting wins? That is the real question."

I guess the real issue is, which QB gives Denver the better chance to win now. So, is it Cutler or Plummer?

Cool Re: Jay Cutler Watch

You can't panic after one week. I'm no Plummer fan but you can't abandon a plan because of one opening loss. People overreact to opening day every year. Everywhere in America, fans of 16 NFL teams are ready for wholesale changes while the fans of the other 16 teams are planning their Super Bowl parade rout. It's a long season.

Re: Jay Cutler Watch

Not really, unless you consider 16-games a long time.

I think we should petition the NFL to extend the games in a season to 162 like baseball. The players would be so worn out, it would just about justify their salaries.

I hear you...but out of the newbies...Jay Culter is looking the best in my book...and Plummer is looking worse than Warner
