Broncos' Marshall to play Sunday

Brandon Marshall has not spoken publicly in the days after his return from a suspension for conduct detrimental to the team, but today Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels said he likes what he's seen and heard from the embattled wideout this week.

So McDaniels said Marshall will play Sunday against the Bengals after a "good week" of practice.

"I don't want to talk about what his mindset is, that's for him," McDaniels said. "But he's had a good week of practice, he's practiced hard, he's doing everything we're asking him to do and we're excited about being able to put all those guys on the field together."

Marshall skipped all of the team's offseason minicamps and conditioning workouts as he recovered from offseason
hip surgery. He had expressed displeasure with his contract and, through his representative, had asked to be traded if the team did not want to give him a new deal.

He was suspended for nine days, without pay, after being captured on video disrupting drills during a team practice and did not play in any of the team's four preseason games. Marshall returned Sunday.
McDaniels said all of the players who are in uniform Sunday will be needed for the game, including Marshall.

"Always a good thing to have everybody available and able to go in there and contribute and we talked about it a lot this week," McDaniels said. "We don't have six, eight, 10 guys deep at every position. We're going to need everybody to play and everybody to play well."
When asked to comment today about his return, Marshall said simply "no thank you."

There are NFL guidelines that require players to be available to the media at least once in the days leading up to a game as well as after games and players can be fined by commissioner Roger Goodell under those guidelines.

Well, what do you know about that?

Sounds like Marshall has stopped pouting and is going to play. He got the luxury of missing most of summer camp and has to be rusty despite a week of practice. Wonder if all the players had his attitude?

Orton is defintely going to start and for the first time has Marshall to throw to. Broncos rookie Moreno may play as well. I give them a shot against the Bengals.

Hmm, I dont know. I have some doubts about the Bengals also. I think this is one of those games I have to do a coin toss at this point in the season. Marshall is rusty, Moreno was hurt.

LOL. I took your idea Bette and decided to do the same thing tonight. I did it with a nickel. Heads Broncos. Tails Bengals. Came up heads...Broncos will still lose despite my coin flip!
