| Broncos Playoff Tickets Broncos Playoff Tickets While these days there is a better than average chance that Denver Broncos playoff tickets will be available during a given year, that wasn't always the case. In the team's ten years in the American Football League, the Broncos never once made the postseason, nor did they manage to finish with a record better than .500 in any single season. Following the merger, this trend continued until 1977, when Denver not only made the playoffs for the first time, and not only won their division, but also won the AFC Championship and qualified for Super Bowl XII. Unfortunately for Bronco fans in attendance, the team could not overcome the Dallas Cowboys, and though they made the playoffs in each of the next two seasons, they could not immediately return to the big game. It was the arrival of a rookie quarterback from Stanford in 1983 that would ultimate turn the fortunes of the franchise, and put the Denver Broncos on the map as a constant playoff threat year in and year out. John Elway & His Impact on Broncos Playoff Tickets That man's name was John Elway, and he probably did more to make Broncos playoff tickets a valuable commodity than anyone else in the history of the franchise. Now a Hall of Famer, Elway was the first player to start in five Super Bowl games, leading the Broncos to the NFL championship on each occasion and winning twice. In the late 1980s, Elway led the Broncos to three AFC Championships in four seasons and appearances in Super Bowls XXI, XXII and XXIV, losing to the New York Giants, the Washington Redskins and the San Francisco 49ers, respectively, in those contests. Elway and the Broncos would remain ringless until late in the quarterback's career, when following the 1997 season, the Broncos defeated the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl XXXII. However, Elway wasn't done yet, as he led Denver back to the Super Bowl the following season, throwing for over 300 yards, scoring a pair of touchdowns (1 rushing and 1 passing) and earning MVP honors in a 34-19 win over the Atlanta Falcons. That game marked the end of the road for Elway, who retired after the game, but for the Broncos, it was just the beginning, as ever since then the franchise has been one of the most feared and respected in the entire National Football League.
