Brett Hull didn't want to shy away from taking risks with acquisitions. Sean Avery was definitely a big one, but it's looking like one that ultimately backfired.
Avery, whose future with the Stars is tenuous at best, was suspended six games (retroactive to the Calgary game on Tuesday) for his disparaging comments made in Calgary after a morning skate. Avery will lose six games' worth of pay and will seek help for his problems, but it's probably too little, too late for a Stars team that is tired of talking about the situation.
"We have to move on and start a new chapter, and that's what we're planning on doing and working toward," center Mike Modano said. "You can't let things bother you.
