Guerin cut loose

Unrestricted free agent. They bought him out of his final year.
He had 13 goals, 27 assists in 70 games last year. Not good enough to pay him 6.7 mill.
So he gets 2/3rds that and he is free. Dallas has "wiggle room", the paper says.
Also, apparently, talks with arnott have gone belly up.
dallas must be looking to clean house, anyway, after that disastrous run at the cup.

Re: Guerin's contract bought out by Stars

According to the article above, cutting Guerin gives the Stars about $4.5 million in extra salary cap space for next season. It also said he had goal-scoring droughts of 13 and 18 games during the 2005-06 campaign. Sounds like this was the right move to me.
