Turco shuts out Ducks

Marty Turco stopped 23 shots to shut out the Anaheim Ducks, 4-0, in their series opener.

According to the Associated Press, "Steve Ott and Loui Eriksson had first-period goals, and Jere Lehtinen and Brendan Morrow added scores in the second for the Stars, who ended a six-game losing streak in Game 1s and took an opening game for just the second time in their last 10 tries."

Quite a feat - didn't see this one coming.
dallas was STRONG. Ott, Eriksson, Lehtinen, Morrow.
worries about Giguere? 37 shots on him, Stars were doing their job.
bad defence and too many penalties (11-a ton of roughing calls).

Re: Turco shuts out Ducks

Anaheim was just plain sloppy. They were fouling left and right and getting into fights. Which lead to about 3 or 4 power play goals.

Makes you wonder - is Anaheim short for this playoffs after watching them play a game like that?

Well my doubts of them defeating dallas definitly got stronger after this game, just a bad game all around. I hope randy carlyle can straighten them up a bit, he was ☻☻☻☻ed the whole game.

Re: Turco shuts out Ducks

Does a team really have it within themselves to make the kind of effort it requires to win the cup in consecutive years? I think the Ducks will play lazy and good on them. They worked their collective guts off last year. Let another team kill themselves physically.
