| Nowitzki wins MVP As expected, Dirk Nowitzki has been named the NBA's Most Valuable Player. According to the Associated Press, "Nowitzki put a permanent stamp on his career by winning this award -- the first for a European, for someone who didn't go to high school or college in the United States, and for a member of the Dallas Mavericks... It also was the rare instance of the honor going to a player who couldn't get his team out of the playoffs' first round, but commissioner David Stern, Dallas coach Avery Johnson and Mavericks owner Mark Cuban did their best to keep the focus on the things Nowitzki did right this season and throughout his nine-year career." Did he deserve it?

| Re: Nowitzki wins MVP I don't think that Nash is underrated at all. He got his two MVP trophies to prove that and even though Nash is probably one of the best point guards playing in the league right now... this season was Dirk's time. Since the voting was only for the regular season, it makes sense that Dirk won, seeing as how he was an amazing player as well as the leader of the team with the most wins this year. That's why they have MVP trophies for Regular Season and for Playoffs... |

| Re: Nowitzki wins MVP Nash deserves some credit for his passing skills, but Dirk dominated. |
