| Re: Parcells-TO last till mid-season Part of me (the Giants fan in me) wants to see their relationship implode and bring down the Cowboys (I perceive them to be the only real competition in the East). However, the other part of me thinks TO has smartened up somewhat. He's now been practically kicked off two NFL teams and has a chance to do great things with Parcells, Bledsoe and Dallas. Then again, perhaps Bledsoe will be awful. If he is, it's not like they have a suitable back-up. |

| Re: Parcells-TO last till mid-season If Owen's keep's his attitude in check i think he and Bill can make it work..but i do think it will have to be a give and take on both side's.I think for the most part Bill will be patient to a point..i get the feeling Parcell's know's he is dealing with high a strung player in Owen's and is making an extra effort to get to know him and what make's him tick. Parcells has developed a reputation for being hard on his players. Although Parcells has a loud and obnoxious side, he can also push pyschological buttons delicately. Parcells believes it is key to appeal to Owens' competitive pride. On Romo: Quote:
Tony has been being groomed to take the rein's and become the starter for a few year's now i.m.o, Is he ready should Bledsoe go down to injury or falter with shoddy play ? I think that he is...time and more play will tell. I don't think Cowboy's owner Jerry Jone's would be offering Tony Romo a 3 year contract to remain the back up indefinately. Cowboys | Team talking new contract with Romo Sun, 20 Aug 2006 19:15:39 -0700 Jean-Jacques Taylor, writing for the Sporting News, reports Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo Romo will be a free agent at the end of the season and the Cowboys are currently discussing a long-term contract with him. The Cowboys have offered a three-year deal, while Romo wants a one-year deal. I see the point of doing the 1 year deal, why sign an extension only to sit on the bench for more years, if the cowboys dont play him in 2007, then he can leave and search work elsewhere in the nfl. Smart on Romo's part i.m.o. I would like see Romo get his shot as the starter next year. I know it's a little early to go crazy over Romo's first full preseason game...but i liked his quick release of the ball...his movement in the pocket to elude potential sack's... no interception's..his ability to make quick check down read's. Not bad for a preseason game. His real test will be in the future when he eventually get's his chance to start in a regular season game that actually count's, when opposing defense's show him exotic look's and his ability to recognize all the look's that defense's disguise, that will be a learning curve that he will only master with playing time as the starter and not the back up. ![]() ![]() Last edited by WAREWOLFE94 : 08-22-2006 at 09:14 PM. |
