Yep, according to my trusty TV guide, former Dallas Cowboys RB Emmitt Smith - the NFL's all time leading rusher - will become the second former NFL player to compete on ABC's Dancing With the Stars this season. Jerry Rice did it during the first year, and I believe sports personalities Kenny Mayne and Stacy Keibler did it last year (I don't watch the show, so forgive me if I'm wrong on this here).

So the obvious question is: What is Emmitt thinking?

Now only if Steve Young would join them next season, I'd pay to watch that offense even at their "advanced" age

ok, this was funny. Emmitt's partner, Cheryl Burke said she didn't know who Emmitt was when they told her who she's be dancing with. Maybe not the sports fan, eh?

Boy, I don't know. Isn't one of his competitors one of the actresses from High School Musical? I bet she already comes into the contest with a pretty strong dancing background. Of course, I really know next to nothing about the show - is it a phone-in vote-off show like American Idol?

Okay... I actually watch the stuff....

Emmitt got off to a good start...a big dancing Teddy Bear they called him...but yesterday he faltered...

Not sure on the high school musical stuff...though there was a girl from the High School Musical movie on the other Dance Show..."So you think you can Dance"...which made the top 10.

Back to Emmitt...I think Jerry Rice did better...Emmitt don't seem flexible enough...

Early front runner is that kid from Saved by the Bell (Mario Lopez)...who is actually dating his dance partner...though they have been penalized for illiegal moves...

Are you kidding? This is great for Emmitt! There isnt one guy I know that hasn't tuned in to watch how he can move! Humanizes him and will definately get women excited about football! I challenge you to find a girl who he hasn't won over with that smile!

ESPN is showing Emmits dancing high lights like it wese some spectacular 100yd rush against the Denver defense. I love Emmit, Hall of Famed bound, but dancing...I just couldn't bring myself to watch it.

Emmitt wound up winning. He did amazing well, but Mario Lopez was a far superior dancer. I think that Mario's partner, who seems like a real witch, cost him alot of votes, while Emmitt's partner, who is the exact opposite, had to help him. But Smith is to be applauded for his ability.

I could not bring myself to watch one of my favorites on that show. He is surely off the all Madden team now. One of the main rules was no tights.

Got to agree with Legend, Lopez was by far the better dancer...I like Smith...heck I am a Cowboy fan...but lets get real...he wasn't the better of the two...and yeah, the girl he hooked up with (he is dating her) didn't get him any votes...Emmitts partner was last year's winner as well...so she has gotten lots of on air time...which helped...
