| Cowboys: Terrell Owens misses Practice OXNARD, Calif. (AP) -- Terrell Owens was back on the stationary bicycle Friday, nursing a sore left hamstring that could force him to miss the Dallas Cowboys' first scrimmage. Owens missed both practices Friday because of a twinge the new star receiver developed Wednesday. Owens has never had a hamstring problem before and is hoping time off now will prevent this ache from turning into something serious. He declined to be interviewed Friday morning, saying only, "Day to day" as he left the field. Following the afternoon practice, he shook his head when asked if he planned to play in a scrimmage Saturday. "It's up to the trainers," he added. Two practices missed already. Is this a sign of things to come? Is this jsut a preventive step?...Anyone think this might help get him to that point where he goes off and says a few things that become a major distraction to the team? |

| Re: Cowboys: Terrell Owens misses Practice Don't see it as a problem right now Dark Knight..i think it's more precautionary than anything else. hamstring problem's this early in camp from what i gather are a pretty common occurence although Owen's from what i hear is worried about his hamstring..source: recent Parcell comment's ..i don't think it's nothing that time won't take care of. He and Bledsoe have plenty of camp left to work on there're timing...i would be a little more worried if the season opener against Jacksonville was on the doorstep. Terrell is a professional and know's his body best. I will take that approach on what i'm seeing on the situation for now. I would rather see the coaching staff play it safe and take it slow rather than rush Terrell back on the practice field to early and risk further injury. It's also giving Patrick Crayton/Sam hurd and Jamaica Rector valuable extra rep's and they are having a good camp and responding well thus far..especially Crayton he is looking real good. Hurd is also catching alot of ball's...he is a big tall powerful receiver that i want to make the roster..Jamaica Rector is being compared to Gary Clark type of receiver by Bill Parcell's..i would'nt read too much into what bill said though..he is just comparing similar style's.I would like to see Jamaica Rector make the team also..due to the injury history of Terry Glenn and Patrick Crayton.Glenn made it through last season but he is'nt getting any younger..However having said that i still marvel at Terry Glenn's speed and the quickness at which he get's into his receiver route's. ![]() |
