| Practice observations today. Practice observations ... non T.O. related Posted by Todd Archer • Flozell Adams is on the physically unable to perform list and spent practice working out with strength coach Joe Juraszek. Bill Parcells said he didn't want to put Adams, still recovering from knee surgery, at risk. It looked as if Adams was dragging his leg while running. • Marcus Spears will have an MRI on his right knee after he was forced to leave practice in the morning. Parcells said Spears may have a cartilage tear and, if so, he would have surgery Sunday. That would knock him out for a few weeks. Spears missed almost three weeks of last year's camp with a knee injury suffered early in camp but he returned for the regular season opener. • We all knew about Greg Ellis seeing some time as an outside linebacker, but second-year defensive end Jay Ratliff also took some time standing up. • Roy Williams was hitting everything. He threw Marion Barber to the ground during an inside run drill. But the hit of the day belonged to Kevin Burnett, who drilled Lousaka Polite on a goal-line drill. Polite, however, spun off and scored a touchdown. • On the first play of team drills Terence Newman broke up a deep Drew Bledsoe pass intended for Terry Glenn. He also had a big tackle on Barber on the goal line. Early prediction: Newman goes to the Pro Bowl this year if he stays healthy. • The quarterbacks' reps broke up this way: Bledsoe and Tony Romo got four apiece while Drew Henson and Jeff Mroz took two each. Not sure if that will rotate during the rest of camp, but we'll ask Parcells. • Rookie first-round pick Bobby Carpenter opened on the third team behind Al Singleton and Rocky Boiman at strong-side linebacker. Glad to hear from Burnett on the field. Now if the coach's can get him to wrap up.Polite is one strong son of gun..would'nt exactly be an easy take down. ![]() Last edited by WAREWOLFE94 : 07-29-2006 at 04:54 PM. |

| Re: Practice observations today. Newman, Williams and the secondary sure sound like they're off to a good start. I think Carpenter starting off 3rd team is Parcells way of showing that he's not hand anything to anyone - even his first round pick has to earn his keep and win a starting spot. Shame about Spears; keep us posted on his condition. Other than getting the snot beat out of them, how did the running back corps do?

Here's a small recap from an interview from owen's after practice: Info provided by poster from another board named Ram HOSS Little Recap -said he is still learning the offense and that Parcells is not catering to him. -said Parcells is excited for the season -Talked about scoring a TD from Tony Romo -said he understands Bill's run first philosphy, and that the pass and run games need to step up if the other is struggling. Mention having two great running backs. -Said he understands why they call Dallas America's Team. -mentioned how he enjoys going against solid corners like Newman and Glenn in practice, and helping the younger guys get ready. -said that Bledsoe is the leader of the team, but himself and others need to step up in that role. -when asked if he had any goals for the season in regards to catches and touchdowns, he replied "alot". ![]() |
