Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo have survived a brutal playoff loss in Texas Stadium when the New York Giants defeated the Dallas Cowboys last season. Jessica was booed criticized and dubbed a jinx by some Cowboys fans that were upset with another playoff loss in the first round. Now it appears that Carrie Underwood is still willing to mix it up a bit as well. Underwood and Romo briefly dated before the quarterback moved on to Sophia Bush and then settled in with Jessica Simpson. They have made it through a summer of break up rumors and now Tony is in training camp and the Cowboys are on the HBO series "Hard Knocks" that follows the team though training camp in Oxnard, California. Still, this week's In Touch asks, "Could Carrie Underwood be trying to create a rift between Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo?" In the September issue of Allure, Carrie, 25, reveals that Tony, 28, whom she dated briefly last year, still calls her occasionally. "The phone will ring and it'll be him, and I'll maybe not answer," she tells the magazine. "Jessica wasn't happy that Carrie would say something like that," a pal tells In Touch, but notes that Jess has complete faith in her NFL quarterback beau. -- National Ledger

No, Carrie is not trying to cause a rift between Tony and Jessica. She's trying to get out of the media triangle with the two of them. Maybe Tony will get the hint and stop calling. That quote is from May 9th, and did not appear in Allure magazine until this month. Tony and Jessica were in a "rough patch" or "broken up in May" and Tony was calling Carrie. Carrie was not interested.
Tony went back to Jessica Memorial Day weekend. I guess he forgot to tell her he was calling Carrie. Oopps! In fact, in a radio interview on 8/15 in San Francisco, Jessica says, "Tony, is hurt. He doesn't know why she would say something like that". He's only hurt because Jessica found out. Jessica knows that there is a 6-8 wk delay between interviews and when they appear in magazines. She's on the cover all the time. In March in Glamour, Jessica said,"we could be broke up by the time this article comes out." So she played dumb to take a stab at Carrie. When the DJ said "thats classless and not cool, Jessica agreed with her and said I respect Carrie I don't know why she would say something like that." Jessica knew what she was doing.
She was mad that her guy was calling his ex and got caught in a way that all the public would know. He loved her so much that the minute they have a rough patch, he goes running to Carrie. No, he is not calling Carrie now but he was at that time. You can tell from Carries radio interviews in early
June that is the case. On WKIS 99.9 June 2 Carrie says "we rarely talk now" and at KASE 101 June 4 Carrie says "we used to talk alot but not so much now" "when you have a girlfriend you cool it and you just check in every once and a while".
So no, Carrie is not trying to do anything with those two. There names just keep getting attached to her for publicity and she's tired of it. That picture you have posted is from the Sony/BMG CMA after party. It is the only time Carrie has ever met Jessica. She spoke to her about two minutes
and Joe Simpson got his picture of Jessica with the two time female vocalist of the year. Its all about publicity. You know how it works.
Carrie can't get through an interview without being asked about former men she's been linked two. Tony was a year and a half ago and so over. Stick a
fork in it. The interviewer simply asked "do you still talk?" and Carrie gave an honest answer. It was two lines out of a two page article that was beautifully written about all the wonderful things she's doing to pave the way for women, like Jessica, in country music.
The National Ledger article and all the others similar to it are a bunch of BS and the only thing that came out of it was that Jessica found out her man
was calling Carrie when he was suppose to be thinking about whether he wanted to continue on with her.

You'd be surprised how many care.

Its generally with tongue in cheek loco. Most of us dont care about the gossip but there are those who bring this up to kind of irritate the Cowboy fans.
