| New technology allows film-study shortcuts There was a time when in order to break down games, Coach Phillips would have to cut the 16 mm film, paste it to the wall and splice it together with a glue gun. Times have changed and now enters DVSport, digital video software. Coaches type in a play and its up in an instant. Coaches can also write notes on the screen, print it out and hand it out to the players. TE coach John Garrett says, "Its like John Madden, we can circle guys, draw arrows, and show where everyone is going." Coaches say it is a quicker, better teaching tool. Games will be shot directly to a lap top. However to prevent any potential spying violations, no electronic devices except for printers and phones are allowed in the coaches booth. Six other NFL teams and countless colleges use DVSport.
