| Bill Parcells tells why he left the Cowboys In an interview with Mike and The Mad Dog Bill Parcells stated his reason for stepping down was about the long hours, because he getting older. Now in a recent comment to the Sun Sentinel, he blames Cowboy QB Tony Romo for his departure: “All you got to do is kick a field goal, the most elementary of plays, and then you just don’t do it. And so I don’t want to go through that process again. Too much blood,” Parcells said. Bill Parcells Comes Clean About Why He Left Dallas Cowboys | Bleacher Report The writer goes on to say that it wasnt Romo's job to hold the ball, it should have been Bledsoe's, and that the players didnt play well for Parcells because he thought ridicule would make them work harder and it didnt. I just lost a lot of respect for Parcells. That game should never have come down to a field goal anyway. This team went on to a 13-3 season after Parcells left. Guess maybe Bill should take a closer look at who is to blame.

| Re: Bill Parcells tells why he left the Cowboys Couldn't agree more with the writer's comments in that article. Starting QBs have no business holding on field goal or extra point attempts. That's either the punter or the backup QB's job. And as you so astutely point out, Bette, that game should've never come down to a kick anyway. Where was Parcells defense at the end of that game, huh? Excuses, excuses... ol' Charlie Tuna seems to be full of them anymore.
