Part of the Cowboys' homework on Felix Jones before the draft was to ask their LB coach Reggie Herring for his opinion.
Herring came on as the Arkansas Raqzorback DC shortly after Jones arrived. Herring had plenty of opportunities to observe Jones' speed, work ethic, and playmaking abilities in practice and games.
Jones has made a good first impression and Dallas coaches love the rookie's work ethic.

I think this young man will add the extra punch the Boys need in the backfield and give Barber a rest if he needs one.

I'm not that up on college football and haven't researched Jones much but if he's better than McFadden or even close then the Cowboys got a great pick!

Keep in mind that I'm in the minority on that opinion, but he did impress the heck out of me with the Razorbacks.
