Thumbs up Cowboys shopping for backup quarterback

The Dallas Cowboys are shopping for a backup quarterback. (thank you, thank you , thank you) Brad Johnson did well in minicamps and they like him, but the Cowboys feel his arm strength isnt there anymore. (gee, do you think?)
I like Brad Johnson, always did, but I just dont want him out there if Romo goes down for any time at all. Like say, maybe a play or two?
I havent heard any names yet but will be watching anxiously.
Who do you think would make a good backup for the Cowboys? (Please dont say Brett Favre)

Brett Favre. Because if Brett Favre had no arms and no legs, he'd still be the best torso in football.
Seriously, I think taking a chance on Simms would be a good move. Or maybe Gradkowski would fit the bill.

Funny Lefty, funny.
It really would be a chance on Simms. He was just developing when he went down and who knows whether he can still play. Gradkowski doesnt do it for me. I dont know why. Leftwich and Culpepper still think they are starters. Too bad they lost Matt Moore. He was coming along nicely.
We have a playoff team. We need a playoff caliber backup. If that makes any sense.

Wish I could take credit for it. That's a Frank Caliendo line.

Geez, Leftwich? Culpepper? I wouldn't touch either one with a 10 foot pole right now, the former due to injury concerns and the latter, well, for one thing he only wants to go somewhere were he would start and for another I think he's washed up. As it stands now, I don't see any slam-dunk backup types out there in free agency.

Leftwich is supposed to be healed and with his weight loss maybe he would work out as a backup.
I think Culpepper could back up. He most certainly wouldnt be any worse than Brad from what I saw of him in Oakland last year.
Personally, I think Joey Harrington would be worse. Or is he signed somewhere already?
