| Dont call Cowboys NFC favorites The offseason for the Cowboys has been more favorable than for the Giants but you can only carry that so far. Things in Dallas are so good a mini camp was canceled so the players could have a picnic. TO is a happy camper. Adam Jones has shed his persona of the past. Phillips thinks young receivers Sam Hurd and Miles Austin can fill the void left if Terry Glenn doesnt come on the field. In comparison, the New York Giants off season seems bad. TE Jeremy Shockey and GM Jerry Reese get into a shouting match at a workout. WR Plaxico Burress attends workouts but wont participate because he is unhappy that he is getting less than half of what Owens makes. One RB (Brandon Jaacobs) wants a new contract and the other is in jail (Ahmad Bradshaw) The Giants are suffering a Super Bowl hangover. The status of their trouble has been exaggerated. And the raves we have heard from Wade Phillips about the Cowboys tells us that he has a good flag football team because that is what work outs in May and June amount to. The real blocking and tackling is not for another 5 weeks and the season doesnt start for 6 weeks after that. The team to be held with the highest regard is the team that has accomplished something in the playoffs; not the one that hasnt produced in the post season in a decade and has much to prove. Dont call the Cowboys the NFC favorites! Don't call Dallas Cowboys the NFC favorites | Dallas Cowboys News | Sports News | Dallas Morning News | News for Dallas, Texas Ouch! This is from the Dallas News yet. But-- is there anything to it. Are people crowning the Cowboys a bit early? (Except for Giant fans)

| Re: Dont call Cowboys NFC favorites This hype surrounding the Cowboys is good news for the Giants and every other team in the NFC. They do certainly seem to be the prohibitive media favorites, and it's hard to understand why since they haven't yet really proven themselves in the playoffs. This Cowboys squad of recent years is like the Ohio State Buckeyes of the NFL. They have the talent, they get the attention, but they always manage to come up short when it really counts. They have to prove they can overcome that.

| Re: Dont call Cowboys NFC favorites I like this Cowboy team, I like them a lot, I think they should be the favorites in the NFC, but I don't think we should be crowned NFC Champs just yet, the Giants look very good again, the Vikings are much improved (ouch that hurt), and, the Saints could be very good if the changes they made on defense work out. So the Cowboys are the favorites, but shouldn't be crowned the Champs yet.

I like this Cowboy team too. But--- My grandson has decided to jump on the Boys' bandwagon I guess and he spent over a half hour one night trying to get me to agree with him they will be the most fierce team in the league. I cant go that far. Hey, I've been down this road with the Cowboys a time or two before. This year's team is pretty much last year's and there isnt any reason they didnt go farther last year than they did. simon is going to faint because I just pretty much agreed with what he is thinking. |
