DeMarcus Ware came to the Cowboys 3 years ago as a 245 lb. defensive end making the change to outside linebacker. Now at 263 lb. he comes from 2 Pro Bowl appearances.
Ware says at first he was worried about the increased weight for fear of losing his quickness coming off the edge in rushing quarterbacks. But 25 1/2 sacks in two seasons have relieved that fear. He plans to play at 257 and bulk up to a max of 265 as he grows older.
Ware knows his power as well as quickness in pushing tackles out of the way gets in the mind of his opponents.
