AT&T in mix for naming rights to stadium

The San Antonio based telecom AT&T is among many companies talking to the Dallas Cowboys about naming rights for the new stadium.
Some say Jerry Jones is seeking a billion dollars to help pay for the most expensive stadium built to house a single team in professional sports.

AT&T in mix for naming rights on Dallas Cowboys stadium - Dallas Business Journal:

The Cowboys are playing it close about this. There isnt much info about what's going on. Cowboy spokesman Brett Daniels has said the naming rights deal is probably one of the most important things that the Cowboys have ever undertaken. So that tells you lots of money involved here.

No its not dumb. Its just big business. Jerry gets a bunch of money to help pay for his overpriced stadium and the company that gets the naming rights gets advertising.

What other advertising opportunity gives you millions of captive TV viewers each and every Sunday, year after year, not to mention all the coverage of the stadium's name in newspaper sports pages, the Internet, etc. etc. etc. Very savvy business move, IMO.

Seahawker, you are obviously intelligent enough to make wise choices on your purchases based on value, but you are in the minority. Never underestimate the collective dumbness out there.
