| Why the Cowboys (or any other team) Shouldn't go After Pacman Jones Nashville, TN -- Well by now I think everyone who knows anyone about sports knows who Adam “Pacman” Jones is. Pacman is a suspended cornerback for the Tennessee Titans. On the field Jones was developing into the one of the best cornerbacks into the NFL and other than the Bears’ Devin Hester was probably the return man. But a long string of off-field insistents. Pacman’s first insistent came at a Las Vegas strip club in February 2007. He was in Vegas for NBA All-Star Weekend, yet he decided to take a detour to a strip club. That night at the strip club there was a shooting; a member of Pacman’s posy fired the shots. During that shooting the club’s bouncer was paralyzed. Pacman supposedly beat up one of the strippers. He was also involved in another strip club brawl in Atlanta and has had a few DUIs. That history of trouble let a new NFL Commissioner Roger Goddell to suspend Jones for the entire 2007 season. The Titans began to make it clear that they wanted nothing to due with the troubled Jones when they said they would look to trade Pacman Jones. But the question was would anyone want Pacman? No owner, coach, or GM in his right mind would. But then again sometimes I wonder if Jerry Jones is in his right mind. Earlier this week a report came out the Dallas Cowboys were in preliminary talks with Titans about a possible trade for Pacman. How good of a fit would Pacman be as a Cowboy? Well on the field it would be a great trade, a young talented corner who could help what is a weak secondary and give them a big play return man. But I don’t care how good a fit Pacman is, he is a cancer and not worth the pain. For all we known Pacman could not be reinstated for next season. I know Jerry Jones has brought in some troubled guys, T.O., Tank Johnson, etc. But Pacman would go above and beyond that and not worth the risk. If Jerry Jones decided to make a trade for Pacman Jones I would not be shocked, he wants to win and will do whatever to win but again adding Pacman Jones is going to far he isn’t worth the risk and to be honest I would be perfecting happy if he wasn’t reinstated by the league. No team should trade for no matter a good of a fit he is to their team.
