Change will do ex-Cowboy Julius Jones good

Once Julius Jones was supposed to be the one for the Cowboys. The next Tony Dorsett, the next Emmitt Smith.
He ran for 803 yards in the final 7 games of his rookie season. He had that magical Monday night against the Seahawks getting 198 yards on 30 carries and 3 TDs.
In 2005 he was 7 yards short of a 1000 yards and missed 3 games due to a high ankle sprain. He was never the same after that.
In 4 of his first 5 games in 2006 he ran for at least 96 yards.
The Cowboys made no attempt to sign the 8th leading rusher in team history and Jones gave them no chance to sign him.
Once Jones had the vision, the burst, the acceleration and then it was gone.
Part of it was Marion Barber. Jones saw what Barber brought to the team and he knew that he had to make his mark. He too hard to make it a big run every run.
In addition, a running back needs time to get into rhythm and his carries were reduced.
So just maybe he will be the Seahawks next "one".

Does anyone remember some of those exciting runs he made early in his career? Especially that night at Quest Field.

Yep. I had high hopes for him. I think it is more a matter of heart than talent.

I wish him the best, other than when he plays Dallas!

As far as I remember, he didn't complain much, and left on good terms!

Me too...Back before the season started, I wrote and article that listed him the tenth best back in Cowboy history...and I left Barber off at #11...so much has changed...wish him well though.
