| Beasts of the East roar The road back to where the Cowboys were in 2007 will prove to be difficult. They must play six more regular-season games against the NFC East, two each against the Super Bowl-champion New York Giants, the wild-card Washington Redskins and the Philadelphia Eagles who managed to right themselves in the end for an 8-8 record. That is six games against teams finishing the 2007 season with a combined 54-42 record. That is four games alone against playoff teams - within the division. More, that is likely having to grind away to merely repeat as division champs to give themselves a chance at another first-round bye while playing in the . . . . Toughest division in the NFL. That's right, the NFC East, and let all the rest fall in somewhere behind. Don't even try to argue. The NFC East produced the Super Bowl champs. The NFC East produced the NFC's No. 1 seed. The NFC East produced three playoff teams. The NFC East did not have a team with less than a .500 record. Any other division come close? Oh, the AFC South produced a sparkling regular-season record and three playoff teams, too, but finished with just a 1-3 playoff record compared to the NFC East's 4-2. Maybe playing in the pansy AFC East came back to haunt the Patriots in the end. Let the Beasts from the East roar. DallasCowboys.com - News Looks like maybe the NFC East will become the dominant division in the NFL instead of the AFC.
