| Cowboys' Witten finalist for NFL Man of the Year On the field, Jason Witten is recognized as one of the best tight ends in the NFL, but his off-the-field work is being recognized by the league, too. Witten, the Cowboys' four-time Pro Bowl tight end, is one of four finalists for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, which will be announced before kickoff for Super Bowl XLII on Feb. 3 in Glendale, Ariz. Miami's Jason Taylor, Pittsburgh's Hines Ward and Kansas City's Brian Waters are the other finalists. All four will participate in a news conference with Connie Payton, the wife of the Hall of Fame running back, on Feb. 1. The tight end started the Jason Witten SCORE Foundation, which provides support for families and individuals affected by domestic violence. He also runs a free football camp in his hometown of Elizabethton, Tenn., for more than 1,000 kids, and takes part in numerous Cowboys-run charity functions.
