| Jones:Dont question Phillips' security Cowboys owner Jerry Jones emphatically stated head coach Wade Phillips has no reason to worry about his job security and didn't know where the question of his status came from or why it was even asked. "There really should no question here," Jones said of his first-year head coach. "It's been just 10 months. It's really been just 10 months since Wade Phillips took this job and look what has happened in 10 months." Jones cited the team-record tying 13-3 record and the "double-handful" of Pro Bowlers the Cowboys have as evidence Phillips' status should not be in doubt or even questioned. Theories had been floating around suggesting Jones' soft spot for offensive coordinator Jason Garrett could cause him to get rid of Phillips in an effort to keep Garrett around as the head coach. Jones said the issue of Garrett is "a great problem to have," but that it isn't an issue for the Cowboys right now. "We all know how I feel about Jason Garrett, and that's no secret," Jones said. The results of the Cowboys in the playoffs won't trigger a different decision on Phillips, either. No playoff win is needed for the coach to keep his job, Jones said, because of his effect on the team's performance during the regular season. Jones made sure his point got through one more time. "I don't know how you could even have a question as to whether or not he's coaching or not for the Cowboys in the future," Jones said of Phillips. DallasCowboys.com - News
