| Despite record-setting season, Romo still questioned The fumbled snap in last year's playoff game, along with a busy summer of off-the-field events, was supposed to ruin Tony Romo. It didn't. Statistically, he enjoyed the finest season of any Cowboys quarterback in club history. The big contract he signed at mid-season was supposed to derail his focus. That didn't happen either, with Romo winning his next six starts that featured 19 touchdown passes and five interceptions. While his new girlfriend Jessica Simpson has taken blame for the Eagles loss on Dec. 16 simply because of her attendance, she also reportedly was at the two previous games at Texas Stadium, although TV camera never found her. So now it's a weekend getaway to Mexico with Simpson and a handful of teammates that's supposedly a big distraction for Romo and the Cowboys as they prepare for Sunday's divisional playoff game with the Giants (3:30 p.m., CST). Here we go again with Tony Romo. The Cowboys quarterback realizes that he can't fight the perception any longer. And so now it appears he's done trying. | Re: Despite record-setting season, Romo still questioned Indeed. When you QB the Cowboys, especially in this media age, you can just expect this. I think he is a big enough guy to handle it. We shall find out. No matter what happens, he will get the credit or blame. Hopefully he will do more things that end up talked about in a postive light. That is all he can do to control what is said. |
